You cannot change the VISA address of any schematic, while you have ICE open and are using that schematic. If you want to change the VISA address of your instrument, you first have to quit your ICE workspace.
Then change the VISA address of your instrument. This can be one of following:
- The GPIB address on your instrument itself. Through instrument front panel, or switches in the back, or any other means that the manufacturer of your instrument provides.
- Change of the network address, when using the instrument through TCP/IP.
- Change some of the VISA properties provided by the VISA runtime you have installed (e.g. a VISA alias).
- ... other changes that impact your VISA address ...
Then re-open your workspace in ICE. When it loads, ICE will report that it could not find your instrument anymore. It will give you the possibility to enter a new VISA address. Just type in the new address, or scan for it.
