Creating of a 2-port DC Analyzer and associated DC sources using different DC supplies must then be done manually.
In the following example, we explain how to create a 2-port DC analyzer which combines a R&S NGMO2 DC supply (using its output channel A) and an Agilent 6654A DC supply.
- Create the DC Source for the NGMO2 output channel A:
- Right-click in the Active Setup Panel and select Add>Single Schematic>DC>DC Source> R&S NGMO - Source
- Specify DC Source A - NGMO2 as name and configure your source as follow:
- DC Output: Select More...> Next > New and specify DC Output A - NGMO2 as name
- DC Supply: Select More... > Next > New and specify DC Supply - NGMO2 as name
- VISA Address: search for the GPIB address of the R&S NGMO2 DC supply by clicking on the ... button
- Click OK
- Output Number: Specify 1 (corresponding to the channel output A of the R&S NGMO2)
- Click OK
- DC Supply: Select More... > Next > New and specify DC Supply - NGMO2 as name
- Polarity: Specifies if the polarity is Normal or Reversed
- Mode and Limits...: you can configure the DC limits for the output channel A of the R&S NGMO2 source at this point or later on via the DC Source Front Panel
- Output: specify the initial DC voltage setting and output state
- Click OK
- DC Output: Select More...> Next > New and specify DC Output A - NGMO2 as name
- Create the DC Source for the Agilent 6654A:
- Right-click in the Active Setup Panel and select Add>Single Schematic>DC>DC Source> Agilent 66xxA - Source
- Specify DC Source - 6654A as name and configure your source as follow:
- DC Output: Select More...> Next > New and specify DC Output - 6654A as name
- DC Supply: Select More... > Next > New and specify DC Supply - 6654A as name
- VISA Address: search for the GPIB address of the Agilent 6654A DC supply by clicking on the ... button
- Click OK
- Click OK
- DC Supply: Select More... > Next > New and specify DC Supply - 6654A as name
- Polarity: Specifies if the polarity is Normal or Reversed
- Mode and Limits...: you can configure the DC limits for the output channel of the Agilent 6654A DC source at this point or later on via the DC Source Front Panel
- Output: specify the initial DC voltage setting and output state
- Click OK
- DC Output: Select More...> Next > New and specify DC Output - 6654A as name
- Create the 2-port DC Analyzer:
- Right-click in the Active Setup Panel and select Add>Single Schematic>DC>DC Analyzer >Generic DC Analyzer
- Specifies DCAnalyzer as name and configure it as follow:
- DC Receiver: Select More... > Next > Generic DC Receiver, and specify DCReceiver as name
- Number of Channels: Specifies 4
- DC Meter 1: Select More... > Next > Voltage Meter > R&S NGMO - Voltage Meter and specify Voltmeter A - NGMO2 as name
- DC Output: Select the DC Output A - NGMO2 (already created above)
- Click OK
- DC Meter 2: Select More... > Next > Current Meter > R&S NGMO - Current Meter and specify Currentmeter A - NGMO2 as name
- DC Output: Select the DC Output A - NGMO2 (already created above)
- Click OK
- DC Meter 3: Select More... > Next > Voltage Meter > Agilent 66xxA - Voltage Meter and specify Voltmeter - 6654A as name
- DC Output: Select the DC Output - 6654A (already created above)
- Click OK
- DC Meter 4: Select More... > Next > Current Meter > Agilent 66xxA - Current Meter and specify Currentmeter - 6654A as name
- DC Output: Select the DC Output - 6654A (already created above)
- Click OK
- When all the DC Meters are configured, click on OK
- The DC Analyzer configuration page should then looks like:
- Click on OK to create the DC analyzer
- DC Receiver: Select More... > Next > Generic DC Receiver, and specify DCReceiver as name
